Join Odyssey Theatre’s Board of Directors and help Ottawa’s premiere summer theatre achieve its exciting artistic plans. We are looking for creative and dynamic people to fill the following volunteer positions:
Director, Board Development
You will collaborate with the Artistic Director, General Manager and the Board to identify priorities for Board recruitment, network and engage people interested in joining the Board, help interview and select candidates, and provide orientation and support to new Board members. You will help ensure the Board reflects the diversity and skills of our community. You will also help with Board planning and review.
Director, Special Events
You will work with the Board to help plan and stage exciting and entertaining public events to raise awareness and funds for the Theatre’s productions. You will develop imaginative events, launch publicity campaigns, and organize volunteers to run them. If you are creative, love working with people and have a flair for organization, this role is for you!
Director, Corporate Partnerships
You will collaborate with the Artistic Director and General Manager to help build relationships between the Theatre and the private sector. You will help make contacts and plan events to introduce the Theatre and its exciting live and digital productions to companies. If you are creative, love working with people and have a flair for communication and networking, this role is for you!
Director, Digital Marketing
You will collaborate with the Artistic Director, Board and staff to help us identify and engage target audiences, launch exciting new digital marketing campaigns that reflect Odyssey’s brand, and promote our digital and live programs. You will contribute to the design and re-build of our new website and to our discoverability strategy. We are looking for someone who is highly creative, a great collaborator and who has experience in digital marketing, websites, social media platforms, analytical tools, digital ads, and SEO/SEM.
Board of Directors
As a non-profit charity, our Board of Directors plays a critical leadership role in helping Odyssey achieve its artistic mandate. Board members are asked to attend approximately 10 meetings per year, and to join a committee or get involved with a specific Board project. Members can expect a time commitment of 6-10 hours per month, for a two-year term.
Volunteers should have a university or college degree or equivalent experience and several years of work experience. Prior experience on a board or committee in a not-for-profit organization would be an asset. We welcome people of all cultures, backgrounds and experiences as we seek to reflect the diversity of our community.
