Welcome, Warm-Ups and Coffee with Chandel + Marlow from Odyssey Theatre

Odyssey Stage

Try a new way to get your day off to a wonderful start with a feel-good boost to your energy.

A half hour warm-up for all ages, given by theatre artists Chandel Gambles and Marlowe Stainfield, with the goal of making you feel great. Open to all, no skills required.

You will take a few minutes to move through breathing, gentle physical loosening and stretching, an easy voice exercise, warming up your imagination and creativity through improv in an environment that is supportive, filled with warmth and welcome.

Stay afterwards for Coffee and Mingling before you start your daytime adventure in the park!

Chandel Gambles

As a graduate of L’École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq, University of Guelph, and Queen’s University, Chandel has worked in Canada and abroad on various multidisciplinary shows, supporting projects both onstage and off. Ottawa region projects of note include acting in The Financier and Whether You Like It Or Not (Odyssey Theatre), Joseph and Amarise (Fresh Meat Festival), and Venus in Fur (Plosive Productions), for which she was nominated as 2015 Best Actress Prix Rideau Award. Her backstage credits include: Patria Cycle-Asterion (Murray Schaffer), and Divergent Dances (Anandam). Chandel also appeared in The Belt and the Necklace as part of Odyssey’s audio fantasy podcast series, The Other Path.

 

Marlow Stainfield

Marlow Stainfield attended the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he received an MA in Classical Acting. His stage work includes: The Miser (Odyssey Theatre), Very Gluttonous, Very Raunchy, Very Late Medieval (Poculi Ludique Societas), Scrooge (White Bear Theatre), Genesis 37 (Genome Theatre), The Resurrection from the York Mystery Cycle (Torch Oxford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Hurricane Productions), Peter Pan (Hurricane Productions), Acceptance (Hampstead Theatre). He has also appeared on screen in Lampmaker (short/ Mad Jack Co.), Mr. Razi (short/ I Saw Something Pictures), La Femme Final (short/ Creative Minds Group, premiered at Le Festival de Cannes 2015), and is the Artistic Director of Pirate Life Theatre Ottawa.
