General Auditions
Theatre Under the Stars, Staged Workshops, and Script Workshops
Odyssey Theatre holds general auditions every fall focusing on building our cast for Theatre Under the Stars. We also look for performers to join us at various new play workshops. All artists must be willing to travel to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for all rehearsals, workshops and performances. Odyssey Theatre provides accomodations for all workshops, and we provide support towards accommodations for Theatre Under the Stars.

Please send your resume, a cover letter and a link to your digital portfolio if you have one. In your cover letter please highlight your experience in open-air theatre. Tell us how your skills would serve Odyssey’s performance style. We will contact you if a position becomes available.

Volunteer with Odyssey Theatre
Whatever your talents, we have a role for you! With Odyssey, you’ll go behind the scenes, meet new people, gain experience, support the arts and maybe even find creative inspiration. We welcome volunteers year round to help to plan and organize special events, marketing, videography, social media and more.

Take a Workshop
Another way to stay connected with Odyssey Theatre is to take one of our public workshops in mask making, mask performance and so much more! Our workshops are open to artists, students, teachers and members of the community. Check out each workshop for any details about requirements or registration.
Youth Apprenticeship Program
A free training program for youth 16-20 years old. Discover the world of professional theatre, receive training in mask & Commedia, design, production, arts administration and a career counselling session, undertake a placement on our summer production, and create and perform a show.
Internships
We welcome applications for internships in directing, dramaturgy and artistic directing.
These can be unpaid internships. Or, we can help you find funding and apply with you or support your application. Please send applications for funded internships to us six months to a year before your intended start date.
Previous Internships:
directors — physical theatre directing, large scale productions, and open-air theatre
dramaturges — analyze physicality of a script, work with physical theatre artists and collaborative creators
artistic directors — skills to grow existing company or start a new one.
